Offcut Camera

Your photos. Your control.

Privacy policy

Effective 29 September 2026

Offcut Camera is developed by Radoslav Bali. This policy covers the Offcut Camera app and this support website.

Photos are processed on your device

Offcut Camera captures and edits photos on your device. The app does not include advertising, tracking, analytics SDKs or a developer-operated photo upload service. You do not need an Offcut Camera account. The app is free and has no in-app purchases.

Film looks

Film looks are Offcut Camera’s own interpretations, applied to your iPhone’s processed image on the device. Fujifilm-inspired colour transforms are fitted to published reference material; Kodak-inspired and original Offcut looks are independently authored. They are not official manufacturer profiles and cannot reproduce another camera’s sensor. Fujifilm, PROVIA, Velvia, ASTIA, Classic Chrome, REALA ACE, ETERNA, ACROS, Kodak, Portra, Ektar, Kodachrome, Gold and Tri-X are trademarks of their respective owners, used only to describe the intended character. Offcut Camera is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by those companies.

Permissions and their purpose

  • Camera: the viewfinder and photo capture.
  • Photos: saving captures and edited copies, and browsing the photos you authorize.
  • Location: recording where a photo was taken, if you allow it.
  • Motion: the level indicator and camera orientation.

Offcut Camera takes photos only and does not use the microphone. You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Features depending on a denied permission may be unavailable.

Location and photo metadata

Save Photo Location is on by default unless you switch it off in Offcut Camera’s Settings. The first time the camera is active, iOS asks whether to allow location access; no location is recorded without that permission. When the setting is on and access is allowed, the app uses location only while the camera is open. If a usable location is available when you take a photo, it is attached to that photo and its styled copy.

Edited copies preserve available source metadata, including location embedded in imported files. Photos containing location metadata may reveal where they were taken when shared. Turning capture location off affects future captures, not existing photos. Use Apple Photos to inspect, change or remove a saved photo’s location before importing or sharing it.

Local edit drafts

Offcut Camera saves edit settings locally so you can reopen a draft. A draft refers to its source photo in Photos, or retains a local source copy for an imported image. These files can include the source photo’s metadata. Reopening requires access to the same unchanged source; a draft is not a backup of your photo library.

Saved copies can remain linked to their edit settings and original source. Deleting a draft removes that local association, not photos or exported copies in Photos. An imported source copy is removed only when no remaining draft or saved-copy association needs it and its references can be checked safely. Discarding changes restores the last exported edit, if there is one, or removes an unexported draft.

Drafts are not sent to a developer server and do not have an Offcut Camera cloud-sync service. They may be included in your device backups according to your settings.

Local storage and deletion

Offcut Camera also stores settings, imported looks and temporary processing data locally. To avoid losing captures that have not reached Photos, the app may keep local recovery copies and their metadata, including location. Repeatedly failed saves are set aside and become eligible for deletion after 30 days during recovery cleanup. Saved captures and edited copies remain in Photos until you remove them there.

Deleting Offcut Camera removes its local app data, including drafts and imported source copies. It does not remove photos already saved to Photos, or copies held by a backup provider. You can manage saved photos in Apple Photos.

Apple services, files and connected devices

Opening an iCloud photo may cause Apple Photos to download it. Photos and device backups can sync through Apple according to your settings. Sharing sends the selected items to the destination you choose.

A connected external display shows the live preview. Offcut Camera does not send this preview to a developer server. The first App Store release does not include an Apple Watch companion. Earlier TestFlight builds may include a Watch remote that exchanges preview frames, camera status and commands with the paired iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity service.

Diagnostics

Offcut Camera does not include a developer analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Development builds can record limited, local diagnostic information when explicitly enabled for testing. Capture diagnostics exclude image data, exact GPS coordinates and photo identifiers. The app does not automatically send these local diagnostics to the developer.

Apple may make crash, performance and usage reports available under its services and your applicable device settings. Reports received by the developer are used to investigate problems and improve reliability, not for advertising or tracking.

Beta testing with TestFlight

If you use an Offcut Camera beta through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and usage information and shares them with the developer. Reports can include device and app identifiers, and your name and email address if you were invited by email. Feedback, comments and screenshots you choose to submit are also shared. TestFlight’s automatic beta collection cannot be opted out of while testing; you can stop testing the beta. See Apple’s TestFlight & Privacy notice for the information involved and Apple’s handling of it.

This website and support email

This website does not add analytics, advertising cookies, forms or photo uploads. Its hosting provider processes ordinary connection information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure the pages.

If you email support, your address, message and any attachments are received through Gmail. The developer uses support information only to respond to requests, investigate bugs, maintain security and meet legal obligations. It is not sold or used for advertising, profiling or marketing. Support email is handled through Gmail and beta feedback through Apple; it is not forwarded to additional services or people unless legally required. Avoid sending sensitive images or location data unless needed.

Support retention and service providers

Our policy is to delete support correspondence and downloaded feedback copies within 90 days after the issue is resolved. Unresolved requests are retained while needed to help you. If retention is legally required, only the necessary information is kept for that purpose. This is a policy for information held by the developer, not a promise to delete Apple’s or Google’s independent service records or backups.

Apple, Google and the website hosting provider operate services that may process information outside your country. Their own privacy policies explain their service retention and international-transfer arrangements. See Apple Privacy, Google Privacy and OpenAI Privacy for the hosting service.
