Report a problem
Include your iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the steps that led to the problem. For capture issues, mention the lens, format, resolution and filter you selected.
You don’t need to send a photo. If you choose to attach one, check it for private content and location metadata first. Never send passwords or your iPhone passcode.
Photo location
Save Photo Location is on by default in Offcut Camera’s Settings. Allow location access when iOS asks, or later in iOS Settings. The app attaches a location only when the setting is on, permission is allowed and a usable location is available when you take the photo.
Changing this setting does not add locations to older photos. You can inspect, adjust or remove an existing photo’s location in Apple Photos.
Photos and permissions
Offcut Camera uses Photos permission to save and browse images. With limited access, only the photos you allow are available. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings. Editing saves a copy, preserving the source photo. Offcut Camera is free, has no in-app purchases and needs no account.
Continue an edit
Your adjustments are saved as local drafts. Reopen a draft to continue editing; saving to Photos still creates a separate edited copy without replacing the original.
A draft needs access to its original photo or retained imported source. Keep the source available and allow Photos access when needed. Drafts do not sync through an Offcut Camera account and are not a backup of your photo library.
Deleting a draft removes its saved adjustments and local association, not the original or an exported copy in Photos. Discarding changes returns to the last exported edit when one exists, or removes an unexported draft. Deleting the app removes local drafts.
RAW, resolution and lenses
Available capture formats and resolutions depend on your iPhone and selected camera. RAW and high-resolution processing can take longer than ordinary JPEG capture. Report unusually long delays with the settings you used so the correct path can be checked. RAW capture preserves the original DNG; the live creative effect is not baked into that RAW file. Open the photo in the editor to create a styled copy.
